Learning Skills That Help You Learn
Simple Observation
Develop habits of observation
Learn to pick up clues on the screen
Pick the first item or the last on the menu list.
Assume things are simple; that they make sense
Don't look for complicated solutions
Develop habits of Exploration
Experiment, guess, and consider alternatives
Use trial & error; browse, play with it
Learn to puzzle things out for yourself
Don’t accept or depend upon what others say.
Have Intellectual Courage
Outlaw "I can’t", "I don’t know how."
Don't be afraid to be wrong or embarrassed
Persevere. Learning is hard work.
It requires commitment
Set goals for yourself

Be an Active Learner
Most students are passive. They ask,"What's the answer?"
Young children are very active learners.
They ask questions. They want to know things.
Active learning involves doing things
and thinking about what you are doing.
"We want to be active learners and creative problem solvers"
Think Independently
But work and study with a friend
Students learn best by working with other students
"Show what you don't know. Share what you do know"
